One of the most beloved sitcoms of all times F.R.I.E.N.D.S is all set to return in the form of a special title Friends: The Reunion on 27th May, 2021. The special will drop on HBO Max, which is presently not operating in India.
HBO Max released a teaser for Friends: The Reunion on Friday which features the silhouettes of all six main characters walking together. The special will feature all the original cast members: Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer.
In addition, the streaming service announced a list of marvellous stars who will make a guest appearance on the show. These include former footballer David Beckham, pop stars Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, talk show host James Corden, Games of Throne actor Kit Harington, actresses Mindy Kaling and Reese Witherspoon (who portrayed Rachel Greene’s spoiled sister in the show previously) as well as Nobel Prize recipient Malala Yousafzai and the K-pop band BTS.
Friends: The Reunion is being shot at Stage 24, renowned as the “The Friends Stage”, in Warner Bros. Studios, Burbank, California: the original venue where FRIENDS had been filmed since the inception of its second season. Although the special had been officially commissioned by Warner Media back in February 2020, the filming was delayed twice in March, 2020 and August, 2020 due to the pandemic. However, the long wait is finally over as fans of the sitcom will get to witness the six friends together again on the screen.
The special is being directed by British producer-director Ben Winston, All the six members of the main cast and the show’s co-creators, Kevin S. Bright, Marta Kauffman, David Crane are also working as executive producers on Friends: the Reunion.
