Israel, Palestine & Jerusalem: A Timeline Of Wars And Exodus Of Jews, Arabs

There are many wars and conflicts between Arabs and Jews in Palestine (or Palestine and Israel ) to discuss at length.

The Palestine war of 1947- 1949 started after UN adopted the resolution regarding partition plan in November 1947 (Israel and Palestine). It broke out on 30th November 1947 and lasted Till July 20, 1949. Israelis won the war and Egyptian were defeated, Jordanians claimed marginal victory, and it was an Arab league strategic failure.

It also resulted in exodus;

A Jewish exodus from Arab and Muslim countries followed. 850,000 Jews primary of Mizrahi and Sephardi background fled Muslim countries. Not only Jews but Palestinian Arabs also flew Israel. 700,000 Palestine Arabs, many of whom settled in refugee camps in neighbouring states. It’s nearly half of Arab population in Palestine region that became Israel.

The 1948 Arab-Israeli war also plays an important role in all this Mayhem that still haunts people living in Israel and Palestine region.

On the morning of 15th May, a day after Israeli declaration of independence by David Ben- Gurion, Arab states, many located in Africa and Western Asia ( Egypt, Iraq, Transjordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Syria) marched into erstwhile British Palestine and attacked many Jewish settlements and Israeli forces.
Guess what …they lost.

And the exodus of Jews and Palestinian Arabs began, the region of West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem, Tel Aviv turned into a place of unrest, protests, and militant uprisings.

On Monday 10th May, 2021 violence broke out in the region, Al Aqsa mosque compound, when Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired hundreds of rockets into Tel Aviv and central Israel, In return the IDF and Israel security agency carried out a targeted air strike against the Hamas. Death of many civilians in Israel and Gaza is reported.
